It is platitude Friday and I thought it was a good day to share some puppy love and puppy platitudes with you:
The dog ate my homework.
Every dog has its day.
The dog days of summer.
His bark is worse than his bite.
When the dog bites, when the bee stings...these are a few of my favourite things.
And, the ever popular platitude: Is Belette ever going to get a puppy?
Why have I gone dog barking mad with platitudes? Well, I think we found a puppy. Meet puppy:
Bon jour, amis de Belette. I am a 10lb, purebred, female, Westie puppy and I am four weeks old and quite adorable, no? What do you think? Am I the right dog for Belette? Just imagine me groomed and sporting a jaunty red collar. Cute, huh?
She and He-weasel are working on the application to adopt me. While you decide, I thought you might enjoy these puppies, Belette did. She watched them for three hours last night after discovering them on Tara's blog. I warn you now that they are more addicting than MSNBC. She cannot quit watching them even though she needs to get ready to go meet Enc. I must go and chase my tail, but please let Belette know what you think about adorable me. Merci!

Adorable dog, you must get it. Just promise you won't carry it around everywhere(like certain "celebrities"). Let it use it's legs!

Got back from D.C. in the dead of night Monday morning and immediately hit the ground running. Work, work, work! The good thing is, NaNoWriMo started last Saturday and so I began writing my Great American Graphic Novel that day in D.C., and the great thing is, it's going very well. I make a gigantic cocktail for myself (which helps suppress the Inner Editor so that I can just write) and shut myself up in my office for a couple of hours every night. So far, so good. Anyway, I feel so bad about being out of touch with you. Thank goodness for your blog so you can still, in a sense, stay in touch with me during this month.

Eeeeeek. This dog is so adorable I want to bite its ears. It's exactly the kind of dog I would like if ever I get another one. We call these (as funny name) West Highland Whities cuz they're like the opposite of Scotties and my husband got confused about the nickname :-) When my mother was growing up she had one named Pretzels.

Westies are nice! A bit stubborn but very smart. My friends had one that used to watch TV and bark at bald men and birds on it.
Westies are on my list of possible future breeds -- a good "big dog in a small dog package" dog. And your puppy is sooooo cute. Crossing my fingers for you that you bring this sweetie home.

I vote YES for "Wee Jock" (after the Westie on Hamish Macbeth - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamish_Macbeth_(TV_series) if you never saw the series - though you have to say his name with a Scottish lilt.

OMG! I am in puppy love!!! He is so darn cute. So, have you thought about names? You know I love the Maltese, but the Westie was my next choice, followed by the Scottie. Let's face it, I love little foo foo dogs. Be sure to read the Dog Whisperer books for training. Ahhh, the joys of puppyhood. If you decide to use potty pads don't buy them at Petco. Oh my,the puppies are so sweet and I like the grown up too.What is their race-I´m meaning the ones in the clip? I´d choose one of those because they are larger than the westies. Naturally my opinion doesn´t count,but I prefer larger dogs(have had dogs for 31 years nonstop,and always a large one). Anyways,I think that it is good that you are getting a dog,life goes on..
She is adorable! A few months ago, there was a very cute Westie featured in a dog food ad on tv. Esme developed such an affection for this dog that we had to save a tivo'ed show just to keep the commercial, and then rewind it endlessly so we could "see that doggie again." And you know, I didn't mind (yes I am that crazy, and yes, the dog was that cute).
Just imagine all the moments of cute you'll experience every day--no need for rewind!

Dear everyone: Thank you for your resounding response to my query. I am so thrilled you all think she is adorable, cute, sweet and lovely. I totally agree. I am mailing the four page application in today with the application fee and then we wait to get approved to meet her. I cannot wait to meet her. I am already in love and don't even know her yet.

The puppies were actually doing something when I checked today - yesterday they were asleep. All my fingers and toes are crossed to help you get the little Westie. She looks so adorable - you couldn't even mind if she chewed your favourite shoes!
